Cannondale Eildon Challenge

Overview

A one day multisport race held on 14 November in Lake Eildon National Park.  The race will include a mountain bike leg, run, kayak and run leg.  The base for the race will be Jerusalem Creek Camping Area 2.  The race will start and end at Camping Area 2 and commence at 8 am, finishing around midday.  The race will use dirt roads with signage for directions and maps issued to all participants.

The race is being organised to provide additional opportunities for our members and raise money to support local CFA, SES and the Victoria State teams for canoeing compete at National and International events.

Can I enter online?

Yes – same place with a link or go to the calendar on either website and look up the date of the race

Can I enter by sending in paperwork? 

Yes, download the entry form, complete it and send it in.

What forms of payment do you take?

Credit card, direct transfer, cheque, money order, paypal 

How much does it cost?

$90 for Canoe Victoria Members

$100 for non members

$270 for teams

$12.00 per person for camping

What are the tracks for the MTB section like?

Most of it is gravel tracks and roads and a single track, there are creek crossings and a ford.   

What are the age categories?

18 – 39

40 – 49

50 +

When do entries open?

23 September 2009

When do entries close?

27 October 2009

Will you take late entries?

We are working on that, if we do a fee of $10 for indivudals and $20 for teams will apply

Do I have to register on Saturday?

Yes, anyone not passing through scrutineering and registration by 5.50 on Saturday will be disqualified.

Where is scrutineering and registration?

At the Boat Ramp, Jerusalem Creek, Lake Eildon National Park

Do you provide any equipment?

No, all participants must provide their own kayak, bicycle, pfd, helmet and running gear

Are we doing an orientation day?

No

Can I practice on Saturday?

Yes

Will there be first aid?

Yes

Will there be a bike mechanic available?

Unknown at this stage.

How do I get a copy of the rules of entry?

You can access them online /raceruleswww.paddlevictoria.canoe.org.au  and follow the links to the race or if you do not have online access we can post them to you.

Why do I have to sign an event licence?

This is standard procedure for a Canoeing Victoria event for non members, it provides a contractual agreement of mutual responsibility and outlines privacy and other policies relevant to the information we collect about you as well as the usual liability disclaimer.

Will we be publishing the results?

Yes all results will be published online as soon as possible after the event

Will photographers be there?

We are working on that. 

Is PAI insurance included?

Coverage for the running and kayaking leg is covered by the event licence or your Canoeing Victoria membership, the cycle leg is not covered for PAI.  Current members of Bicycle Victoria are covered for the cycling leg under their membership insurance.

Can I bring a support crew?

Yes, we do ask that travel within the park is limited to one vehicle to minimise impact on the race.  In the rules there are details about the type of support allowed and access to the race site.

Refund policy

Within two weeks of the race no refund

More than two weeks out $15 admin fee and money kept as a credit towards other events with Canoeing Victoria

Can I transfer my race entry to another person?

No

Can team members change?

Yes up until 1 week out but at least one original member of the team must remain in the team.
